Broken Pavement

Drive In

Nancy Drew originally saw this building from a previous trip (I think) and had said that she was interested in checking out what this large green building was (unfortunately neither Reduxzero or Nancy Drew told me this as I followed her into the industrial park) and learned this only when we were at the site. It was fairly easy to enter the compound and not before long all three of us were inside and taking pictures of the large white screen, sound boxes and playground equipment. Reduxzero and I approached the main concession stand and projecting building that was situated in the middle of the land but didn't attempt entry due to the sight of a new antenna on the roof which was thought to be for security purposes. So we both parted ways, Redux going to the screen while I went to the back of the lot to get establishing shots. Eventually I made my way up to the playground that was directly beneath the screen and tried to use some of the equipment but much to my disappointment none of it worked properly. Then in the distance a siren rung out and those familiar feelings to get the heck out of there as soon as possible raced through my head. There wasn't much else so we decided to scout out the rest of the city and eat.

My patience was running thin, in the past two days I had not explored or found anything that remotely was interesting but then my plight was eased. In the distance I saw something that resembled a seed cleaning plant but as I drove closer it began to resemble more and more like a drive in. Then the familiar towering white screen manifested itself and I found myself driving on a side road to photograph and explore. I would have been content to just take a picture of what was left but as luck would have it, the door to the concession/projector building was open. There wasn't much left from its original days in the concession section but the projectors were still left in the original but cramped room. Since there wasn't any power nor movies left I decided that this place had exhausted itself and seeing how there was not any defining objects below the screen so I continued my journey in the wheel barrow known as my car.
