Sept 1st - Day 14

CITGO Truck Stop, Mo. - Minneapolis/St. Paul, Mn.

After meeting with my friend I came into the twin cities at approximately 11:00 P.M.  ETMJ graciously donated not only some space for me to crash on, but actually gave me a bed to sleep on. When I phoned ETMJ he was involved in an exploration so he gladly gave me the directions and an easy entrance point into the Scrapper’s Brewery.

Under a dark and clear sky I quickly found the brewery and its dense network of buildings. ETMJ didn’t say which park to use so I assumed that the small green space adjacent to the main street was the one to use. After roaming the grounds of the now inhabited buildings I eventually found a way into the tunnels and began to make my way through one building at a time.

The first building I entered was some sort of fermentation building. On every there was one hallway running the length of the building with small holes for each empty fermenting tank. After going inside one of the tanks and through the first floor the rest of the building was quite boring.

One of the floors in the fermentation building.
Phhh...permits required.

From there on in my memory goes blank due to the amazing maze that the buildings create. I counted that I passed the same vandalized door over three times while walking through the buildings.

Some fermentation tanks.
This would be the door I kept passing by.

I was tired and wanted a bed to sleep on but unfortunately ETMJ’s cellphone was turned off. Not wanting to spend any more money I drove out to the suburbs and found a 24 hour gas station to sleep in front of and reclined the chair to sleep in. Unfortunately my car alarm went off at around 4 A.M. and I could not turn it off. I was exhausted and wanted sleep so I decided that I would sleep on a bench nearby and figure out the alarm in the morning.
